Recording

Do you have a song that you want to record but have no idea where to start? If so, you aren’t alone. I had the same frustration years ago and I’m sure many others have had the same. I had a Mac laptop with a program called Garage Band that I had heard could be used to record, but when I opened it up for the first time I just stared in confusion thinking it was way beyond what I could understand. The great news is that it really isn’t as bad as it seems. Garage Band is set up to learn quickly for the novice producer, but still have enough tools to get a good sounding project. I remember taking a one hour workshop and walking out confident that I had a pretty solid idea of how it operates and where to get started. From there I explored all the features, took notes, and let the music out!

Not long after I realized that Garage Band was fun, but I wanted something a little more powerful. Another great discovery is that Apple Logic is basically just a more powerful Garage Band but doesn’t break the bank. It looks and feels pretty much the same, but with more tools at your disposal. I’ve been using (and studying) Logic for over a decade now and very proud to say that I can put out professional sounding music confidently. Please don’t hesitate to contact Gert Dog Studios if you want to start your recording adventure!
